The Web analytics data captured by WebObs™ R3 goes beyond the standard hit / browser scenario.
WebObs™ is integrated into Microsoft Internet Information Services to enable tracking the usage of the Web site whatever the application and protocol. From the usual page display with a Web browser, to more advanced usage such as document and content management with Windows Explorer and Office System-enabled applications, WebObs™ records all accesses and operations.
Moreover, WebObs™ focuses on the content. Indeed, the hits to technical files such as layout images, client scripts and style sheets, are ignored. Only the functional user actions are recorded, whether it consists in viewing a page or making an operation on a content.
Beyond raw usage data, WebObs™ is integrated with Microsoft Active Directory to retrieve the information required to enable user segmentation. The statistics can thus be consolidated against standard criteria such as country, company, department or office. It is also possible to incorporate your own custom properties and thus leverage the investment made when specializing your directory to your business environment.
WebObs™ automatically retrieves the site structure and user-friendly labels to generate reports accessible to content managers, without requiring advanced knowledge of technical notions. Indeed, WebObs™ takes advantage of SharePoint services to refer to the content as it is defined by the designers; technical paths and URLs are translated to user-friendly hierarchies and titles. WebObs™ reporting is flexible and can be adapted to specific requirements. It provides the features required to generate reports on-demand for the specified scope and consult them online. It is also possible to schedule the generation in advance and publish the reports via Email in multiple formats, such as Abode PDF and Microsoft Excel.
WebObs™ R3 provides the ability to manage the solution remotely, using WebObs™ Management Studio. Connected to WebObs™ Shared Services, authorized administrators can manage the site structure, administer the reference information and operate system tasks remotely. WebObs™ management services are published via secured XML Web services. As a result, existing administration systems can also be extended to include WebObs™ in the list of systems managed.
