WebObs™ Licensing

WebObs™ R3 is uniquely available as software. The licensing model is adaptive, to correspond to your evolving business needs. Licensing is based on three elements: the edition of WebObs™, the number of WebObs™ application servers and the licensing model.

Application Server

An installation of WebObs™ can include one or more application servers. Each of these may be used to track the accesses of dozens of Web sites*. It is possible to purchase a license for more than 1 application server, in order to distribute the associated tasks over a farm of servers.

Licensing models

Two exclusive licensing models are available with WebObs™ R3: either based on the number of users (CAL), or on the volume of accesses per year (VAL). In both cases, you may choose a license renewed every year, or without limit in time.

  • Client Access License (CAL) - with this model, the price is linked to the number of users of the sites. One Client Access License (CAL) is required for each user whose accesses are tracked using WebObs, whether it is an identified or an anonymous user. No limit is then applied to the number of accesses recorded.
  • Volume Access License (VAL) - with this model, the price is linked to the number of accesses recorded. One package of Volume Access Licence (VAL) entitles to process a certain number of accesses per year. No limit is then applied to the number of users tracked by the system.

(*) The rhythm at which the application server may process information real-time is relative to the hardware of the server where it has been deployed, and to its workload. Under certain circumstances, it might be required to dedicate one or more servers to this task.
